Firstly just wanted to say thanks for this program. Was goingt o go down the manual batch file route, but then gratefully stumbled across this site. Keep up the good work guys!

Ok, the issue.....I've searched the forums quite a bit and sorry If I missed it, but wanted guidance on how to manually add windows updates that the auto-update program does not find.

As an example, today I was updating a Vista SP1 install. Auto-updater ran, found over a dozen updates and ran the install. Took about 10 minutes in total. It rebooted, configured and then I went to windows updates just to double check and there was still about 120mb of updates (critical/important) that needed downloading. (it showed 130mb or so before I ran the auto-patcher) and so either a ton of those updates didn't install for some reason, or there are a lot of fixes that Microsoft have released that are not being detected/added by the auto-updater. What confuses me is that the update downloads folder I have for Vista is about 180mb and so figured I had everything out there.

Also, I have downloaded the latest unofficial/unsupported version, so not sure if that means I don't get to hear answers to my problems or not?!...but wanted the link to the last stable/supported version for XP and Vista (am getting some verification runtime errors)

Thanks in advanced guys.

Also, can someone link me to the "how to create a custom module/program update thread please?!"...cheers!

Hi HRHRUDI
If you have a problem with Autopatcher it is usual to post in Releases, either in General Support or in one of the more specific versions. But, since you are new to the forum, welcome.

Adding updates manually is possible but not simple. You will have to alter Autopatcher's .SCRIPT files and write new .APM files. You will also have to prevent APUP from destroying your new .SCRIPT files when it tries to download the "official" files. There was quite a discussion on this last year, when Autopatcher was starting up again.

It would be really helpful if you would give exact information of the updates that Windows Update is showing that Autopatcher does not have. In eack case, just the KB index is needed - this is KBnnnnnn, where nnnnnn is a 6-digit number.

Autopatcher's own list for Vista SP1 is given HERE.

All copies of Autopatcher currently show as unofficial, because the security information is not currently implemented or downloaded -- it's on Erik's TODO list.

Hello HRHRUDI,

I would be very interested as to which updates Windows Update detected as missing. There are a couple known updates that MS Update detects as missing even though it's truely installed. Additionally AP is missing the MSXML for now until the parent is updated.
