Please excuse me if this information is available elsewhere in this forum. I tried searching, but found it difficult since I cannot use a word such as CD or DVD as a search term.
All the files I need to copy onto CD/DVD for the options I've selected in Autopatcher amount to nearly 2GB. Of course, this won't fit on one CD, but most of the machines I'd like to use this on do not have a DVD drive.
So, is it possible to copy Autopatcher to, and run it from, multiple CDs?
If so, how?

Thank you for your response. I had thought of that, but was hoping for an easier solution - such as the ability for Autopatcher to seamlessly run from multiple CDs.
I'll do as you suggested.

this might be a option....setup autopatcher on 3-4 cd's.
I have the autopatcher engine and support files on all cds, then get the xp x86 pkge for sp 3, addons, directx, and dotnet for one cd
current size is about 638Megs. Use for all updates.
On 2nd cd have again the autopatcher engine and support files for Office XP and 2003 plus the office addons. Comes to about
680Meg.
On 3rd cd , have downloaded Office 2007 and office addons for 2007. Comes to about 585Meg.
On the Vista patcher, have the vista x86 and the addons . for a cd total of about 405 Meg.
You are gonna have to run the 1st cd regardless to update WinXp and/or Vista. Then if you know which Office version you need to update, then
jus insert the appropriate disk. Or, if you have no clue, then just insert each cd and run AP and let it determine if anything to do.
Might be alot quicker then copying all the cds to the HD then running.

that works

maybe, but slower to run. takes more time to check all modules and takes more time to install each module. besides, there's another issue: sometimes, some cdrom drivers do not read properly all kind of medias, then your instalation may hang in any point of the media. of course, your cdrom may be damaged and you didn't saw an tinny scrath in the surface
. if you copy the entire media, if your cd can't be read, you will know at once
besides, you may do an module to add something into runonce that will run autopatcher for you twice (that you need, anyway). but it may not work if you are running from an cdrom

Yep. Those seem to be the two approaches:
1) copy it all to the hard drive and run it from there.
2) split the updates onto separate CDs so that each one can run independently.
I think I'll take approach 2.
Thanks again for the input.
