I downloaded the files I needed for XP Pro last week , but there is no install file to start the installation of the files. Only Module directory and a apup bin but there is no autopatcher.exe ??? where do I find this file. I have a very long download of files, how can I install them?

Thanks

Doesn't sound like you downloaded the AutoPatcher Engine. Run apup.exe again and make sure you choose the Engine. Also let us know if you have any errors when you run apup.exe

I also downloaded the files and could not get it to run, I read the above post and downloaded them again and made sure I had the Engine ticked and again I was unable to find the .EXE to run it.

Thanks,
Bert51.

Hi farang and Bert51

Let's take this a step at a time, because until AutoPatcher is itself fullly installed you can't install any updates.

If you have selected the updater and the engine for download and autopatcher.exe is not appearing in the same folder as apup.exe, this may be because you are downloading to a folder with spaces in its name.

See my advice in THIS POST for an example of what I mean.

If that does not solve your problem, we will need to see your log file:
Re-run apup again with the /log option (as in C:>apup /log) and post the apup.log file here. (You will need to use the Command Prompt or edit a shortcut in order to use the /log option. If you have never done this before, let us know and I will take you through it.)

Also, as Erik has already asked, if apup reports any errors at all, please let us know.
