i've realize that ms finally had updated the .net 3.5 sp1 langpacks. i also notice that the size of that has increased a lot. not a big deal, in fact. but after install it, i've realized that the .net 2 sp1 language packs has updated too, so, i've downloaded it and tried install. if i try install it before .net 3.5 sp1 language pack, it says that i already have it (the language pack that is currently installed is for .net 3.5 sp0). if i try install it after .net 3.5 sp1 language pack, it returns me an generic error message, just saying "error". so, i'm guessing that all the .net 3.5 language packs already includes the language packs for .net 2.0 and .net 3.0, that are installed by the .net 3.5 sp1 redist and there's no need to include those language packs anymore, right?

Yes.

Because my locale is English, I don't have any language packs, :D but I am sure that the .NET 3.5 SP1 language pack will also include 3.0 SP2 and 2.0 SP2 language packs. Same as the redist.

someone at ms must like of bad jokes... i've removed that .net 2.0 langpack because i know that this one was replaced. also i'm with an issue in my right arm, i'm not doing install tests every day, but today i had to rebuild an image restore to a friend and to that, i did an clean install. after everything installed, WU. then, what i see in that? kb829019 (.net 2.0 langpack), that i already know that was replaced by KB110806 (.net 2.0 sp1 langpack)

now, i'm not sure if i add an already obsolete update (that have 1.8mb) just to not see that thing at wu again or add an not needed update that fails to install after .net 3.5 langpack (KB110806, that have something about 26,9 MB)

right now, i'm testing wmp11 again. i don't remember when english users had an new version, but i know that since that this updated was reported, i' try download it from times to times just to see if this one was updated. so far, nothing. until this date, the download link is exactally the same than before, md5 is exactally the same, but the release date has changed...

really, there's things that only ms does for you...

Cristiano,

If you have installed the .NET 3.5 SP1 language pack, it includes .NET 2.0 SP2 language pack. But you have to be sure you have installed the new language pack, not the old one.

I also have some information from Microsoft to me. Please check your PMs.

i almost forgot:
besides the useless and outdated kb829019 (.net 2.0 langpack) that WU say that you need install in other languages than enu, ms did the same mistake again, with KB928416 (Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0: language pack) and yes, Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 LangPack SP1 is installed and working, so, another mistake from WU...

Hi,

Will anyone be creating modules for the October XP updates or will we have to create our own?

Kind Regards

Simon

yes, James already said that at staff area of the forum, but he lives at UK and not all files was replicated on Microsoft's Servers. so, he said that he will update it today. but we have a problem with vista releases, since we don't have that OS and we the best that we can do about those releases is update something without test (that isn't a good idea). but we have XP and also James has 2k, so, we can update those scripts. i us to have the same issue with the time zone every single month, but by a miracle, all updates was online yesterday, so, i did it. i've sleep just a few hours last night due that, but i did :)

don't worry. those modules will be online soon.

You missed KB953155. SilverLight will not be included in this list as it belongs in AutoPatcher Extras.

The October updates are ready and uploaded, but I have not yet allowed downloads, because I have received reports overnight of problems caused by two of the new Microsoft updates: MS08-061 and MS08-066.
