Problem with NET framework 11 August:

md5_checksum_for_DotNet_Addon_Pack.7z
File size does NOT match. Expecting 3989, but found 3986!!!

As a result autopatcher is unofficial, although all sets show true.

I deleted the md5_checksum_for_DotNet_Addon_Pack.7z file and ran apup again, same result. So I don't think it was a bad download.

no, that isn't the reason for the .net package goes unofficial. the script isn't signed with that file. but there's one issue: that file has the wrong size. i will do an download test with this new kb to check for possible download issues related to that

thanks

Cristiano's Photo Cristiano 13 Aug 2010

ok. i think that i've solved that issue. kb974417 was removed, but the script was re-downloading it. as this file shouldn't be present anymore, the release turns into unofficial. also, the file size issue was solved

thanks

Excellent. I deleted the KB974417 module and md5_checksum_for_DotNet_Addon_Pack.md5, then ran apup, which just downloaded the md5 file.

All official again, thank you

@JRosenfeld

Wouldn't this post be better served in the appropriate forum, not everybody will know to look in the XP forums for DotNet issues? <_<

You've been around here long enough that you should know this by now.

Sincere apologies. I was led astray by Cristiano's 'by the way' type of remark in post 42 'tomorrow, the .net package..'

i'm reaching august/2010 update for rootsupd.exe, but this one still didn't reached the static url (at least, the static link that i've tried still has the old version). i will keep on eye on it until tomorrow. if the static link keeps in that way, the script will be updated anyway, with the new link

done. the enu script was updated to include rootcerts 25 and also remove Windows Defender, that will be included in another script

Re: KB2183461 - I was installing a few updates on a XP SP2 x86 machine and I noticed this in the update log (btw, the update did not install and was selected once again in AutoPatcher)...

Spoiler
WindowsXP-KB2183461-x86-ENU.apm needs an edit - in fact IE7-WindowsXP-KB2183461-x86-ENU.apm and IE8-WindowsXP-KB2183461-x86-ENU.apm should be changed as well. If the update wont install on IE6, why would it install on 7 or 8. All 3 .apm files have - WindowsVersion=XP_SP2_X86,XP_SP3_X86.

Whatever you think is best :)

Almost :) There's a small issue with the script, the file name for 'MSIE Critical APMs' .7z is incorrect in the download link. The link produces an empty archive and the new .apm files are not extracted - the release becomes Unofficial. Note: the .7z's new size and hash are correct in the script - only the 'date' is bad. This is the fix,

...from
DownloadFrom=http://www.autopatcher.com/releases/english/win_xp/MSIE_enu_critical_20100606.7z
...to
DownloadFrom=http://www.autopatcher.com/releases/english/win_xp/MSIE_enu_critical_20100906.7z

The updated files are good - .rti, .md5, .apm, etc, their size and hash pass and the release is Official for Sept. 06, 2010.

After downloading the English SP3 Update (Sep15) I got the following error:

***Downloading Releases***

Files to be Downloaded: 21
Download queue processed. Proceeding to next phase.

Download Error: Z:\Autopatcher\temp_bin\xp_sp3_enu.7z
File size does NOT match. Expecting 33238, but found 34238!!!

AP shows Official Release and the release info looks clean. Bad Hash somewhere?
