Any status on the Updates for August after they were pulled?

For those that downloaded the Aug 14 updates with APUP. you will have to manually clean house to return back to AP official status for the script currently active.

Domenico asked me if he could work the update and I replied yes... no word since then. I will give it another go.

Edit:
Almost ready for another try. AP will show unofficial to anyone who has the files from the broken links. Im not going to have the script delete the files.

Ok so just in case there are more bugs... I have a placed the script in the test list.

IF you already have the files that can no longer be downloaded you will be unofficial since I am still unsure if I should have the script delete them since they are still valid updates.

Batch file for using the test list is included. Second attachment is the MD5 of the files. Duno... SFV crashes on me when I try to compare clean dir with previous dir.

Attached Files

Shouldn't this be the other way around? As you said. these files are still valid and most people will already have these files if they use APUP regularly. Ms is having problems with their download center. No need to react on that.

While we are still waiting for the new XP script WAC has graciously updated the original script for october. Actually he did it like last week but, I forgot about it. I am going through it right now and cutting out old fat that ALL apms(not just WACs) have that don't need it so we don't keep the extra txt propagating to new apms. If you want to try it its on the test release script. http://www.autopatch.../releases2.list

Also the newer updates for THIS month won't be out till the 13'th

I just got around to downloading the APUP XP files for November for verification and get 'unofficial release' The reason is that KB2695962 which was replaced by KB2736233 is not being deleted by the script. For some reason it has been commented out. Any reason for this?
#PreAction.FileDelete=autopatcher:\modules\Critical\KB2695962_xp_x86_enu.apm
#PreAction.FolderDelete=autopatcher:\modules\Critical\KB2659262-x86_files

Unable to answer why it was commented out but if you read carefully the folder deletion removes the wrong folder.
The script should read as:

PreAction.FileDelete=autopatcher:\modules\Critical\KB2695962_xp_x86_enu.apm
PreAction.FolderDelete=autopatcher:\modules\Critical\KB2695962-x86_files

Will let ViroMan comment for the reasons

I missed that about the wrong folder. In any case, the correct deletes should be enabled to avoid 'unofficial release'

I'm also seeing a problem with wga. There are no entries showing for it. The apm files for wga have ParentID=WINDOWS_XP_X86_WGA_PARENT whereas the windows_wga.apm has UniqueID=WINDOWS_WGA_PARENT
