been a while since I used APer, wanna install my copy of XP SP1, but what do I do with APer now? do i just install the core installer, then download SP3, and forgo the SP2 install? I'm assuming SP3 would have all updates between XP default to current SP3 status? and does SP3 trigger a wga install or verification? with APer in the past, when I just had SP2, I could just fire up APer, download specific updates/fixes/patches I wanted, and tell APer not to install wga or any other updates I didn't want.
AP, what happens now with SP2, SP3 and wga?

Yes, you've the right idea:
From SP1 you can go direct to SP3
1) Install your XP SP1 CD
2) Install XP SP3
3) Download and install APUP
4) Run APUP to install AUTOPATCHER and download post-SP3 updates
5) Run AUTOPATCHER to install post-SP3 updates
