You'll also see that there are big changes to the log file -- including better diagnostics, better progress tracking and error reporting.

Please don't say "It's released" then say everything will be posted tomorrow. Yuck.
I would have preferred knowing all this 'tomorrow'.
I'll be baaaaack.

Not sure when it can be slipped back in. Other improvements to the user interface are in the pipeline too.
Please notice also that the opening post of this thread has now been updated with a list of major changes and bug fixes and the download page (Downloads) now shows the right file information for the new APUP.ZIP.

I'll go ahead and put this on my to-do list. This release mostly was for "background processes" which the next release I'm going to work on will address the GUI and what information is presented at the time of running.

As for the Russian locale issue, could you run apup.exe /log and post the results of your log in the bug section of the forums?

That has two benefits:
1) We can unpack more file types, thus solving one or two problems that AutoPatcher currently has in installing some of the more unusual updates.
2) We can drop uz.exe, not because it is bad, but because we are absolutley fed up with it being falsely detected by anti-virus scanners.
More details of the (well-known) 7-zip program can be found here: 7-Zip Home Page
And, yes, once you have updated to the latest APUP, you can manually delete uz.exe from the apup_bin folder

apup.exe /log
the whole idea about this file is provide an easier way to generate a log file for those that aren't familiarized with create shortcuts or something. this file is only 13 bytes long, so, this will not increase the download time in a significant way. also i've added this file into apup script, the next time that someone hit the option to update apup or at least leave it checked (it is checked by default), that file will be downloaded and will arrive at apup main folder
