Hi,

First of, I deeply appreciate Autopatcher project, thanks a lot for the work the team has done over the years, I still like the offline installation, yea.. those were the days..

Now I have trouble running APUP, the download seems to be no end, it won't finish, it always stuck at a certain percentage and I have really no idea.. Any help shall be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

probably because something interrupted your connection to the server and it was delayed enought to make apup think that your IC is down. but it can be solved just by running apup again, in the same folder, without remove nothing that was already downloaded. so, apup will resume his work and download the remaining things

Thanks folks.. I left APUP idle, it has been running 20+ hours, it's processing sloooooowly and I leave the FULL bandwidth for APUP..

download speed issues aren't an issue from apup. apup just take the bandwith that the server gives to him. it don't say: "hi, i have 10mb of download speed". the server just read your route and gives the download speed that can spare in that moment. but sometimes servers are oveloaded or the route is overloaded and will not work at full speed in all day. at my IC (BrasilTelecom), it's pointless try download something before 23h, they just cut the download speed and blame the servers saying that they are the problem. despide they say that just cut off p2p, they inspect all packets, making all kinds of downloads have the exact same problem, if you don't have an download manager that try download several things at same time. also you probably know, apup doesn't do that. so, probably you may have the same issue. the main question is know if your provider let you download something in full speed some part of the day or not. but you can easily test that by choosing an big update (like .net 3.5) and making an manual download. so, you may test if this is an issue from apup or your ISP. but be far: don't choose download managers to that test, because apup doesn't do what they do

to run apup with /log, just do like this:
- move the folder with apup to some place with an short path, like c:\apup
- then, start, run, cmd;
- type:
c:
cd\apup
apup /log

or just move apup to some place with an short path, like c:\apup and then start, run, and type: c:\apup /log [enter]

the same thing will happend

done. select the same scripts than before and let it run. after that, you will see at apup folder an file named "apup.log". open that with notepad, copy and paste here, please

Your problem is a known language conflict.
APUP will not function properly and will not download files without errors if your Language for non-Unicode programs is set to any of the following:
[indent]Chinese - People's Republic of China
Chinese - Singapore
Chinese - Taiwan
Chinese - Hong Kong SAR
Chinese - Macao SAR[/indent]
To resolve your problem you will need to reset the Language for non-Unicode programs to English. This is shown in the following dialog box:

Please follow the steps below to do this:

1. Click Start > Control Panel > Date, Time, Language and Regional Options > Change the format of numbers, dates, and times > Advanced, to show the same dialog box.

Or, if Control Panel is set to "Classic View"

2. Click the "V"-shaped down-arrow to the right of Chinese - Hong Kong SAR. Select English from the list that appears.

No. You will need to get Service Pack 3 directly from Microsoft, update your SP2 system
and then run AutoPatcher. AutoPatcher will then update your system with "POST" SP3
hotfixes, etc.

Thanks very much Mike, I have installed SP3.. having run again APUP, I tested if it works by downloading a small update, (dot)net service, the download has completed but it turned out like this whilst running Autopatcher

I'm not sure exactly what your autopatcher error message means. Does it happen immediately, when you start autopatcher, (before the list of updates appears) or does it happen after you have made a selection from the list?

Thanks again! This error message appears as an "Application Error" (above shown) when I started the APUP by "RUN".. it doesn't appear when I simply double-clicked it.. in both scenario, APUP runs as usual and completed the downloads.
