Hello,
I am an IT professional and I have recently discovered this wonderful piece of software. I am interested in acquiring all the files necessary to go from Windows XP SP1 to Windows SP3 using Autopatcher. Is there anyway to get these files. I am willing to pay a fee if necessary.
Thanks,
Tyler Fulton
Does Anyone Have The Autopatcher Files to Go From Sp1 to SP3 ??

Hi tyler_fulton
You only need one file and that is available from Microsoft, not from AutoPatcher.
You cannot do this with AutoPatcher for two reasons:
1. AutoPatcher in its present form has never supported Windows XP Service Pack 1
2. AutoPatcher does not install Windows Service Packs
However, once you have updated your Windows XP installation to Service Pack 3, you can then use AutoPatcher for all subsequent updates.
See:

Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers
also (if you have not already done so):
AutoPatcher download page
there's may have an issue regarding going straight from sp1 to sp3. ms says that it will works ok, but there's several reports around the web saying that this may be an bad idea and that you need install sp2 first. if you wish, Windows XP Service Pack 2 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers can be found in here

Hi,
I have tested modules here for installing XP Service Pack 2 and XP Service Pack 3 via AP if anyone wishes to have them.
The installation is done via the "RunOnce method" in which the SP files are unpacked to the local hard drive and then installed when the PC next reboots; before the OS loads.
This seems to work very well and can be done from within AP; however you do need to deselect all other updates before allowing AP to kick off this process.
If anyone wants these modules please PM me and I can ZIP them up and e-mail them out to you (unless someone wishes to host them?).
You will need to have the network installers of SP2 and SP3 to include with these modules of course
Kind Regards
Simon

Thats very interesting. The method of running once can used for other things as well. Would you be kind enough to put the RunOnce Code here . Thanks for your help.
