I've been using autopatcher for quite a while now and it has never given me any problems in the past.
I ran autopatcher with the following modules
Windows XP SP3 August
Dotnet Pack
Direct X August
Extras

Now when i updated to september release it showed up as an unofficial release. I thought i probably messed up somewhere so i created a new folder, ran Apup and selected the WindowsXP Sp3 September release only and at the end it gave me a file verification error so i ran APUP again and it went away but when i run Autopatcher the unofficial tag is still there.

I tried deleting a few apm and rti files thinking they may have been corrupted and ran APUP with the log command and got this.
APUP Has Started

Operating System: English (1033) Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
Current Locale: English - United States / Non-Unicode Default: English - United States
Starting APUP From: D:\Softwares\Autopatcher

when i go to
MicrosoftUpdate_x86.apm_files
the only file there is InstMUWC.INF
the three files
  • muweb.cat
  • muweb.dll
  • muweb.inf
were present in the Components folder whereas the log file shows they should be in MicrosoftUpdate_x86.apm_files folder.
Is this normal ?

Hi Rapier

Thanks for posting.

It is not your fault that AutoPatcher currently shows as "Unofficial".
We are not updating the security information at the moment whilst we reorganise files on the server.
I did mention this (Here) but maybe you missed that.

If any of your files are corrupted, this will be detected by apup, not by autopatcher.

The Microsoft Update (muweb) problem is a separate issue, which I am investigating.

Thanks for the reply, i didn't search much before posting so sorry for that.
I guess the error i get while using APUP for VistaSP1 is related to the above problem aswell

No, those seem to be another problem entirely.

Can you please help me by letting me know exactly when the "Subscript out of range" error occurs.
Is it all the time? Only for one release? Only when downloading two/three/four/... releases?

The file verification error may be the Junk Mail filter.

If either of these errors occur only for the Vista release, it would be helpful if you could switch Topics (to the Vista section) before posting.
