Have AutoPatcher installed on two systems. Both have XP Pro w/SP3 installed. Only #1 has Office installed. Run APUP on #2 and I do not select any of the options for any Office items. Then run AutoPatcher and one of the available items is: Microsoft Office Addons. Under it are: Agent 2.0 Characters and Utilities, Visio Addons, Desktop Language Settings Addon, Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office Second edition, and (in Blue) OpenType Font File Properties Extension.

The last item is in blue because I have, separately from AutoPatcher, installed this item.

So, why do I have these items since no version of Office is installed?

Or, should these items be listed as something other than Office Addons?

That's a mixed bag of updates!

From the description you have given, this looks like a detection issue. I will have a look at this, but it will take a day or two. In the meantime, it would help if you could run AutoPatcher with the /log option, so that I can see if this is a fundamental detection issue, or something that can more easily be corrected in a single module.

No need to install anything. Just:
1) run autopatcher /log
2) click exit
3) find autopatcher.log in your WINDOWS folder
4) post the contents

As I said - I have no Office components installed on this system, unless Works 2000 is considered an Office component.

Thanks. As you can see, no Office components are being detected by AutoPatcher.

However, Microsoft Works might be considered an Office product depending on what you have. From memory, Works Suite 2000 (not vanilla Works 2000) includes Microsoft Word.

It will take some time to track this down.

Forget it - my screw up.

I went back and deleted all Office modules and re-ran APUP. Then I made sure I did not select anything that had anything to do with Office, downloads completed, started AutoPatcher.

This time there was a listing for Microsoft Office Addons - but there were no sub-listings for any Office item.

So, my bad, sorry for causing extra work. :(
