Go another file that fails (for me) when downloading the XPSP3 x86 set:

APUP Has Started

Operating System: English (1033) Service Pack 2
Current Locale: English - United Kingdom / Non-Unicode Default: English - United States
Starting APUP From: D:\apup
Date & Time: 01-Oct-2008 14:25 UTC Offset: 0

Missing file D:\apup\modules\NonCritical\KB946665_xp_wmp11_x86.apm_files\windowsmedia11-kb946665-x86-intl.exe
Item windowsmedia11-kb946665-x86-intl.exe is missing. Adding its download to the queue.

MD5 Hashes do NOT match. Expecting 06CE672191834692B8C69EDE69B7D89E, but found f79916e33bf08a710224fc05b53a890b!!!

***Processing Cleanup Routines***

Downloading and testing the MD5 for the file myself gives f79916e33bf08a710224fc05b53a890b

As a temporary workaround I'll redownload XPSP3 x86 fileset on its own, but if there is an easy way to correct this problem, please let me know.

Thanks,
Binky

Hi binky

I've just downloaded and tested windowsmedia11-kb946665-x86-intl.exe myself and I have an MD5 hash of 06ce672191834692b8c69ede69b7d89e, which is the same as expected by APUP.

Can you please tell me the date and time of the Digital Signature of the file you have.

i've downloaded this file in here too. i'm getting 06ce672191834692b8c69ede69b7d89e also the md5 for this file. it may be an silent update that ms did and isn't well spread yet or some sort of web cache is serving an corrupted version of that file

I downloaded the file in the given link in the above message
(http://download.micr...65-x86-intl.exe)
and retrying the file now gives the expected checksum 06ce672191834692b8c69ede69b7d89e *windowsmedia11-kb946665-x86-intl.exe
even though you can see from the log it was not working when I tried earlier this week.

I setup an XPSP3 system on its own and got the correct file checksum so I copied the file into my full autopatcher system and that fixed the problem for me.

All now working as expected, thanks.

Binky
