Ok, here it is the new version that Antonis released. Download Link: here.

I give you the same warning as before: this is a early beta release, so you may find some bugs. You may post them in
Bug reports forum.

Edit: some features requested by some users weren't implemented yet.

Edit 2: Added new version that it's supposed to fix the download errors.

Edit 3: This new version (Nov 25) can now correctly decompress zip files, and can now create a log file. Now it's just the time for us to edit the scripts with some big changes.

Nice work. I noticed that the date on the English release went back in time, what is the reason for that?

As i recall, last time i changed the date but it was still saying November.

Apparently I am the only one with this odd date display, so here's a screenshot:



Any ideas as to why it is displayed incorrectly?

Edit and side note: the latest English script for XP worked wonderfully with the exception of one file failing verification in the .apm file (which you said you already know about). I know that two people had run-time errors, but I still think that you are nearing a finished product. I'd like to both thank and congratulate you on this success!

i hope you dont mind me posting this, but here is a very stable implementation of the same idea:

this has been developed since 2005 in german, an since 6/2007 it is also available in english.
this program downloads the updates for server 2003, XP, Vista, windows 2000, and office 2000 - 2007
if you want it to, it also creates a cd image, that can be burned on a cd/dvd and used to patch many systems.
if you dont create an image, the update package will be saved in the "client" folder.
oh, and it supports lot of languages! (among them: english, german, french, swedish, dutch, norwegian, ... )

Thanks for you support and help, but there is still a lot of work to do. I still have to add the Components (.Net, WMP, IE, etc) and some Add-Ons. But yes, part of the work is already done (also with a big help of Antonis).


@ blablauser: yes, it seems that the principle of both programs (AutoPatcher Updater and yours) is the same. We still have the regular version of AutoPatcher, all we did now was change the way of getting and distributing Microsoft's hotfixes.

Excellent to have you guys back in business! I just had to disable my adblock for this site on this computer to make sure you're getting at least the paltry ad revenue from my linking in. I don't check in here much, I have work to do after all, but this definitely makes my job easier. The previous version seems to be showing age already, not having the monthly updates for a while.

The releases are cumulative, so, if you missed one, just download the latest and you'll be with your Windows updated.

Can u work on something like displaying the list of patches one wants to download even within the windows/office..
something like the list that is displayed before the install is begun and a user can select what he wants to install and what not???

Fantastic to see AutoPatcher in the works again!

My 2c... Would be nice to be able to point APUP to a WSUS server (at work). Would also be nice to be able to create an All-In-One package to include your choice of Vista, XP, Windows 2003, Office xx, etc...

Just select which sets of updates to download and it'll compile into an all-in-oneAutoPatcher =]

Don't worry about this feature which I'm sure it will be implemented in the future. Right now we are only worry about the basics and getting them to work. From there, we will build upon a steady and working base.

The good news are: it is now only downloading the script for the release selected by the user (thank you for listening to my suggestion). If no updates are available it will move to the Finish dialog but it would be nice to get some message: "Your Autopatcher Release (whatever) is up to date. No downloads are required" or something like that...

The bad news: it shows the Calculating message in front of every release (which is confusing), the window still doesn't resize and it is still missing some mysterious 509kb (it is probably the sum of the other scripts...)
