I tried updating my AP using most recent (1.0.3) and it received the latest scripts of today including the DotNet one. It would not download anything after it got that and I quit and brouht the APUP back up and had it try again. This time it is back to run time 0 error and closes. Was not sure if this is a dotnet script issue or a app issue...

Erik knows about that and will fix it soon, and by soon I mean later today.

...and before anyone else complaining errors about the .NET add-on (again), read this first.

Or wait 6-7 hours more.

It's still a work in progress, with no release as of yet.

I keep getting the following error when it tries to download MUWEB_SITE.CAB:

MUWEB_SITE.CAB: 200 No route to host.

Then it says one or more files failed verification.

Thank you

EDIT: The problem was with my routing.

Does apup.exe update itself when a new one is posted or do we need to dl apup.zip to upgrade it?

As of version 1.0.2 it can now update itself, that's what the top-most list is for in apup.exe. If for some reason it does not update when a new version comes out (although it should), you could then downloaded the new version from this site. Note that all of the Windows/Office updates that you download will be kept, you do not need to download them all again after an AutoPatcher update.

Thanks for the info, Cyrus.

I am also seeing the wrong date for

AutoPatcher Updater: 12 Mar 2007 (20071203 in releases.list)
DirectX Addon: 12 Aor 2007 (20071204)
AutoPatcher for Windows 2000: 12 May 2007 (20071205)

in the apup Select Releases window. The month and date are reversed.

I am not interested in downloading the Office updates but they are always selected by default. Is there a way to have apup only select what I selected on the previous run?

About the date, it's a known display bug.
It won't affect anything that you want to download, aside from the confusion. ^^;

Regarding the remembering previous selection, it might be a feature soon to be added.

For now, it seems like Antonis is currently trying to fix the connection breaking problem.
Y'know, basic functions first, requested features later. =)

As for the date problem, it only happens when the day (i.e. Dec 9) is a number less than 10. For some reason, it switches the day and month (numerically) when the day is 9 or less, so If you know the desplayed date to be wrong, you can just change the month into a number (Dec=12) then switch the day and month to find the actual release date.

I really need help!!!
I've tried to use APUP, but each time when a file is going to finish downloading, APUP shows 'disconnected' at where it supposed to show the progression of downloading. I guess the file is not completely downloaded. Then, it start to continue with next file in the queue. and the same thing happened for every following file.

At the time of finishing all downloads (well, each file in it was not completely downloaded, actually), APUP shows a popup message, saying that "one or more files failed verification. Would you like to continue on your own risk?"...

If i click "yes", then another popup saying "unknown header" will come out and this popup never go away even i've clicked the OK button thousand times...

So what can i do to update my windows...????? Thank you for helping me.

just a note for apup v 104 i have confirmed that part of the "can't even start the download" problem is the files end up being named *.scr so the grabber part of the program can't find them (created a shortcut and used the undocumented /localscript switch to verify) maybe v 104 could check for script files with both names or somebody could find out why the files are being misnamed??

Hi guys, I am not new to Autopatcher but new to the new release ...

I have Autopatcher program version 5.6.72 (29 May 07) core release installed on my PC. I downloaded the latest apup.zip file and extracted the files to my "c:\program files\autopatcher" folder.

When I try and open apup.exe I immediately get a "Run-time error "0"" error.

1. What version of autopatcher needs to be installed on the pc (if any) and where do I donwload it?
2. In what directory do I need to install this and also extract the apup.zip files?
3. Any configuration needed.

If this info is posted somwhere else on the forum please point me there as I seem to not be able to find this info.

Thanks for all the time spent on this. We appreciate the effort !!!

Try running apup in a new directory.

RT 0 may means a lot of things. basically, it means "i don't know what to do". it may happends in a fresh folder or in a previews folder that already has AP. if the server that you are downloading from is overloaded (ms has a lot of mirrors, just the ordinary user doesn't see that), it relocates the download to another source. apup doesn't know what to do and it returns an rt0. until antonis debug that, when it happends, the only one thing that you can do is try again. if possible, another time.
