Yikes!
Autopatcher is confused
What AutoPatcher was trying to do
It appears that the error occured while AutoPatcher was trying to get commandline arguments.
Where: mdlInitialization.Main()
Error Code: 0x174: Failed to load control 'RichTextBox' from RICHTX32.OCX.
Your version of RICHTX32.OCX may be outdated.
Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application.

Is there anyway to utilise Autopatcher if you are behind a Proxy firewall? I'm currently using a tunneling program called "Your Freedom" to tunnel out of my university's network, plus a proxifier called "ProxyCap". I can get most programs to work, though Autopatcher is one of the more troublesome ones. Any tips on how I can get everything working so I can download the latest updates?
I'm still waiting for a reply on this....
Every time I try to use the program it brings up "Error Fetching Release List".
Please make it so that if you have to provide authentication to use the internet that you can also use Autopatcher.

If thats the case, then the tunneller and proxifier that I use should have worked unless theres something really exotic in the coding of that program.
To be honest though, it is kinda ironic that this feature hasn't been included thus far, considering the majority of the people who use Autopatcher are on big networks that more often than not require authentication.
If only direct connections are usable with Autopatcher at the moment, at the very least give us the opportunity to have access to the Tweaks etc that Autopatcher used to offer in some other way.

apup.exe downloads WindowsXP-KB951748-x86-ENU.exe, but it is not detected by autopatcher.exe. So the patch for "Vulnerabilities in DNS Could Allow Spoofing" is therefore not installed.

If you have a problem with a proxy-server firewall, talk to your IT department.
If you are at university, talk to the guy down the corridor, who know how to deal with this.
See also the A Solution: Proxy and Autopatcher thread in this forum
AutoPatcher (apup.exe) uses standard http and tcp/ip protocols, just like Internet Explorer.

I guess you guys have forgotten what the application used to be like before MS got involved. BTW - it had proxy support. Although, I guess they could've just put in a button labeled proxy that produced a notice telling the user to talk to the corporate IT guys and tell them to change their network so this application would work... yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Y' know, maybe we should take proxy support out of FireFox and IE. After all, we could just get the network admins to change things for us. Right...
So again, right back to what I said, is the project dead? Will it get proxy support and finished up like what it was before MS made it be rewritten?

Umm, before it was "rewritten", there was no connection to the network needed, so how could it have proxy support? Remember, there was no APUP then (it wasn't a re-write, btw, it was a new program).
And YOU seem to be forgetting that they don't get paid to provide us with this program! Show a little respect.
