When everything is downloaded, you need to run Autopatcher.exe in order to choose and apply all updates. APUP is only the file to download all modules and updates from Microsoft

The latest version is actually downloading for me now and no more error 0! Hurray! I support a number of dial-up only and disconnected sites and being able to use autopatcher again is a god-send. My life just got SO much easier.

Thanks Antonis

No. WGA is an optional component (or will be when it's included).

Hmm. I'm not really sure what the official line on pirated Windows is now that the project has moved away from Neowin.

I get that notification about a verification of an update failed. How do I track which update failed? So that i could delete it and let apup get a new one.

Personally I vote against supporting the Warez versions of Windows. Even though you can now do as you wish, I would suggest against to prevent any future repercussions. It just makes a good stance to not support it. You don't have to quash it as much as before, just you don't have to support it if it fails to update.

Just a concerned individual... I run legal versions of Windows and still use this software to prevent the MS Spyware from getting on my system to much...

Before people start talking about this, I want to state the following: Conversations about legal and non-legal versions of Windows in conjunction with AutoPatcher will not be tolerated here. Please take this type of discussions to another forum.

Thank you for your understanding everybody

Right now we are getting the file failed verification error in some cases where all files check out ok, so please be patient while the error is debuged and fixed.

After I got the failed verification message I tried to run Autopatcher and got the unofficial release message. I have to assume that some file is corrupted. Anyhow, thanks for your great efforts. No app has saved me more time than Autopatcher.

No, even if the download had no errors, you would have a unofficial release. Since it's just a beta release, we don't sign any release as official. It will only have the Official tag when we have a stable release, that might happen until the end of the year.

I downloaded the latest version today, and it got almost all the way through the 1.8GB of downloads before kicking out a Runtime Error '0'.
And now, everytime that I try to run it again, it exits with the same error.

Here is the log.

Try running just one list at a time to narrow down the problem.

Ugh. I just did, and no matter which of the updates I pick to run alone, it gives a runtime error 0 on each one.
I deleted everything and am restarting. *sigh*

There's always a chance that your download of apup got corrupted (mine did once). Try downloading apup again from the link in the first post of this thread and see if that fixes the error. Make sure to overwrite all files, not just the executable.

Even though if the file was corrupted the zip wouldn't decompress error-free, I still re-downloaded the file.
Same thing. It downloads tons of updates, and then BANG! Runtime error at the very end.

In that case, run aupu.exe with the /log switch. To do so, right click and drag your apup.exe to your desktop and select create shortcut. Then add " /log" (with the space but without the quotes) to the end of the target text box, click ok, then run the shortcut. When it gets the runtime error, look in the folder where apup is located, and post apup.log to this forum.

AND, even when I start fresh, no matter what I select, it crashes iwth a RunTime Error 0.
I started from scratch, new download, new directory. I only select the autopatcher engine and the Windows XP x86 patches.
Runtime error 0 at the end.
