Thanks for the update.

I can only find the Web Installer at Microsoft at the moment. Does anyone have the link at Microsoft for the full package?

When I tried this just now it gave me the August 2008 version again.

maxsisac, erik has returned, but he didn't solved all his time issues yet. i'm not sure if james was leaving this one to the next path day, but i've updated the script myself. i'm not kite sure about how sign this one, but the script is online, with the same parameters to detection that i was choosing in my personal version for this one.

by now, i'm sorry, but i need take care of my leg. an "nice guy" that was on hurry to save his mother from nothing with an car hit me a few hours ago when i was coming home. for my luck, he just cost me 2 days without my bike and a few bucks and some bruses. of course, he run away (like i said, he was on hurry to save his mother from nothing), but i was able to take his car license, so, i will see him again in the court. the funny part: i was just waiting my time to enter into the road. but i'm lucky, he didn't broke any of my bones

edit: signed

i just have 2 concerns about this update. first of all, they didn't replaced the files that was chosen for the old detection. the second one is the OS support that ms is stating at the download link. win2k isn't in there anymore. so, i don't know if this one will work under win2k

by the way: script updated

thanks

At the Microsoft downloads page the dxwebsetup.exe file lists Windows 2000 as a supported operating system but on the directx_feb2010_redist.exe download page Windows 2000 is not listed; so I'm guessing here that there must be a difference when the web setup is run versus the redistributable. And only those in the know at Microsoft know the difference. :angry:

well, dxwebsetup.exe is an update for an existing version. the redist version runs without any previews version. as an guess, they may have locked the redist version to not run under win2k

Hi, I have WinXP with DirectX 9c which I updated with AutoPatcher to latest version but when I start dxdiag it says I have still 9.0 version. Is it normal? Update cant be removed.

_def_x_'s Photo _def_x_ 07 Mar 2010

@loop

As far as I can tell (I haven't installed Feb. 2010 yet) there are only 4 updates in the latest DirectX .cab files
-> date modified 02/04/2010 / file version 9.28.1886.0.

...X3DAudio1_7.dll
...xactengine3_6.dll
...XAPOFX1_4.dll
...XAudio2_6.dll

Also, I don't think there is much movement in the version numbering since 9.0c since DirectX 10 / 11 are the
new kids on the block. Point is that you wont likely see a drastic change in updating to Feb. 2010.

:)
