Quote

Java software for your computer, or the Java Runtime Environment, is also referred to as the Java Runtime, Runtime Environment, Runtime, JRE, Java Virtual Machine, Virtual Machine, Java VM, JVM, VM, or Java download.

Size information

The download size is approximately 16MB (each version)

for more infos about Java, please check http://www.java.com

Note:
due an recent change in the way that jre is downloaded (ticked-based), apup can't hold the download link. for your convenience, attached to this post are the required files to allow you keep autopatcher as official and have the latest Java Runtime as well, in x86 and x64 versions. if you don't have an x64 OS, you may not require the x64 version. you don't need booth to stay as official, booth versions are independent, but if you have booth, then you must keep jre x86 and x64 as well. in order to this work, download the proper version and then download jre from those links:

JRE 6u21

the provided link can reach booth x86 and x64 versions, according to the user selection. just select the platform, check "i agree..." and hit "continue". the files that yours shall download is jre-6u21-windows-i586.exe and/or jre-6u21-windows-x64.exe

booth executables shall be saved into modules\AddOns\SunJava_x86_files

I think that 64-bit IS supported (or at least it can be downloaded)

That download is from the Sun Developer Network, not from Java.com and it is not a stable link.

You can download from SDN yourself, but you must then use the standalone module to install, not this Addon pack.

Well, seeing that AutoPatcher is barely hanging on to a skeleton crew of release maintainers, and that Java is an easy upgrade
on your own, that may have something to do with it.

gUiTaR_mIkE, is right. basically, the issue with this one is related more to SUN. let me explain: each release maintainer can update this script. in fact, i already have the new module for this one since some time ago. but thanks to SUN crazy download links and police about certain countries, i can have all the free time in the world to update this one, but i can't grab the link, because by some reason, when i try the command to take the direct download link that works with apup, i'm redirected to an mirror that requires ticket. each one mirror that requires ticket from SUN is an useless link, because it will works only for a few downloads and then will die. also, ticket based links makes apup crashes. just to give you an sample, to take the download link for this one, you must choose cURL (or at least another tool that makes log). for cURL, the command must be something like this:
curl -I "http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=27984"

(this is for the -p version for this month. for the next ones, you just take the link from java.com and add +1 in the BundleId to take the right version)

but thanks to sun, the only link that i can get is something like this one:
C:\Documents and Settings\Cristiano\Desktop\curl_719_3>curl -I "http://javadl.su
n.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=27983"
HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily
Server: Sun Java System Web Server 6.1
Date: Mon, 09 Mar 2009 22:05:57 GMT
Content-length: 0
Content-type: text/html
Location: http://sdlc-esd.sun.com/ESD7/JSCDL/jdk/6u12-b04/jre-6u12-windows-i586-
p-s.exe?AuthParam=1236636476_e8694e2cb50f894dbefab2b56a109179&GroupName=JSC&File
Path=/ESD7/JSCDL/jdk/6u12-b04/jre-6u12-windows-i586-p-s.exe&File=jre-6u12-window
s-i586-p-s.exe&BHost=javadl.sun.com

and this kind of link is ticket based and will not work for longer. but this is only part of the issue, because you need to have the proper time to take the working link and also update the script. sometimes, you don't have booth or you are unable to. right now, i have the proper time to do that task, but i'm unable to take the download link thanks to sun. ans the ones that can take that link are currently overloaded and can't do that. they have his own lives and problems to deal with and they do that by free will only. so, basically, there's 2 solutions for that:
1 - someone take the working link and sent it to me update this script or;
2 - sit and wait until the time issue is solved

sorry, but that is the naked truth

Is this what you wanted?

curl -I http://javadl.sun.co...?BundleId=27984

This is the link generated.

Java BundleId=27984

If this isn't what you need let me know and I will try and help.

not quite really. we only are able to catch the download links from java.com, not from java.sun.com. at java.com, the links us to be updated after sun.com, meaning that we will be forced to stay with v13 for some time
