done. booth java modules are now online. i've noticed that the autopatcher issue with x64 systems was avoiding an proper detection for java x64. i think that i've set an proper one that will bypass this limitation for now

java 6/21 is not being downloaded, in fact the only JRE file in apup's modules/addons/SunJava_x86_files is 6/18.

Also although all sets are true, Autopatcher shows as unofficial after downloadin the NM33 file

no problem. anyway, this issue is due the presence of an old version of this module

oh yes, since there's not an script to do the proper actions, for those added manually your have to delete the old files first, meaning javaxxx.apm and the .exe file

I deleted those, but no java was downloaded.

I then started with a completely new apup in a separate folder (apup2), and checked only Autopatcher update, autopatcher engine and Extras addon pack. No java files were downloaded. Pic shows the Autopatcher result:

I'm not finding the new Java modules either. I thought maybe it was moved to 'Extras' based on what JRosenfeld said but I don't see it there?

the modules are at the first post, but:

javax64

javax86

JRE 6u21

the provided link can reach booth x86 and x64 versions, according to the user selection. just select the platform, check "i agree..." and hit "continue". the files that yours shall download is jre-6u21-windows-i586.exe and/or jre-6u21-windows-x64.exe

booth executables shall be saved into modules\AddOns\SunJava_x86_files

long time ago, we have found an issue in the forum that sometimes doesn't allow anyone else see the attachments (i'm unsure if the issue was already fixed). if is this the case, please let me know it that i can host it instead attach.

OK that woked, thanks. (for some reason Autpatcher showed as unofficial if I used the windows_addons.apm dated 12/03/2009 that was in the zip file, but became official when I used the one I already had, dated 16/07/2010, although the files appear to be identical).

thanks. i probably forgot the old version of windows_addons.apm in the java folder. no problem, i've re-attached those, without that file. the posts that had the version with that issue was edited.

Just wondering, did anyone ever figure out what the difference is between the file that has the -s and the file that doesn't?

I noticed the new Java file is minus the -s, the old link still has it -> jre-6u21-windows-i586-s.exe

-s version includes online installer of Google Toolbar or suggestions
about downloading OpenOffice (-s = suggest).

download from developer site for non-s version

Hi Cristiano,

would it not be better to make the modules self-extracting in case a user doesn't have 7-zip
installed?

isn't an bad idea, but the self-extracted version becomes too big to be attached. also, the attachment system gives an idea about the usage of those modules. but as an alternative, attached to this are the same modules, in zip format

If you do not want MSN Bing toolbar crammed onto your PC without your permission, do not use the Java updater to download and install JRE 6 Update 22. It just did that on one of my PCs. Use the full installer download.

Grrrrr! Some software packager heads need some cracking together... Never *thunk* push *whack* crap *squash* onto *owwwwww* computers *please stop!* without *we promise we won't!* asking *never! not ever again!* permission!

If you use the recommended AutoPatcher method - the full installer - this should not be a problem.
