Really? Are you sure it was at Java.com?

I've just checked again at the download page (http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp) and the link (BundleID=31620) still resolves to jre-6u14-windows-i586-s.exe.

OK, no problem.

This module will remain at 14 for the time being, because that is the latest version available from Java.com.

Well, before anyone tells us, I already know that Update 15 has arrived at Java.com.

Online install: Windows XP/Vista/2000/2003/2008 Online

Offline install: Windows XP/Vista/2000/2003/2008 Offline

The bad news is that we still may not be updating this module anytime soon, because it is just about bottom of the pile, after a lot of other more important stuff.

In the meantime, just use the updating mechanism built-in to the Java Runtime itself.

from java.com:

Java para Windows - Firefox/Mozilla
Recommended Version 6 Update 15
Windows, Vista, XP, 2000 e 2003 Server

reaching the same site, with IE:
Java para Windows - Internet Explorer
Recommended Version 6 Update 15
Windows, Vista, XP, 2000 e 2003 Server

but still, as i said several times already, my ic has issues with java.com that i didn't fully understand so far and i'm unable to take the direct download link. so, unless the curl download link be taken by someone from another location, i can't update this one, sorry

Java runtime update 16 is available - I went here: http://www.betanews.com/ and the link went straight to the Jave 16 download.

yep, but betanews acts also an mirror and their link doesn't work if you try it without browse betanews. surely, there's an v16 around, but probably it is at sun.com or at unauthorized mirrors...

my friend, we can't grab links from http://java.sun.com , only from http://www.java.com . by some weird reason, sun chooses an ticket-based download link, that doesn't work with apup. but from http://www.java.com and some Curl usage, an proper download link can be taken. but at http://www.java.com , the only version that can be reached so far is Version 6 Update 15

but the guys from sun could act also good boys and fix their weird behavior with that ticket-based link. after all, they wish java taking the world or not? if not, please say to them keep their download link as they are today or close their doors

Let's get this clear, since everyone has forgotten what has been posted many, many times in the last 2 years by AutoPatcher staff:

java.sun.com is *NOT* for end-users it's the Sun *DEVELOPER* network (as it CLEARLY says in the logo at the top of the screen).

We do not do beta software or developer versions.

We are not interested in downloads from Sun, from the SDN, from betanews, from other illegal (or even legal) mirrors, from illegal torrents or from anywhere else in the world except the download link that I have already posted above.

If you don't already have it.

Java (JRE) Version 6 Update 16

...BundleId=33889
...New Direct Download

Old Direct Download

Followup 01:
There seems to be an expiration date - today - for the direct link and it wont download anymore, for me anyway.

Followup 02:
This link (same BundleId) produces a new link with no mention of an expiration date.
