I just checked my log file and once again it shows an expiration date for the Java download, this is twice now (something new for Java).

I will wait a day or 2 and get a new download link and run it through - it should list an expiration date if implemented, if it shows none
I will post the link.

BTW, can we increase the time you have to edit a post - it seems like only hours, I liked the old format better.

Note: We need to wait some time before grabbing a direct link for Java, I think it was 4 or 5 expired links (from same BundleID)
that expired (kept changing) within 2 hours before a link had no mention of an expiration date. Anyway,...hope this stays good!

interesting behavior this one. in deed, we will require wait a little bit to see if the link will hold. right now, it is holding, but for how long?

Also, see post #64 above. :)

Thanks click-click for getting the link, we have had serious weather issues in California so I had my PC shutdown for 7 or 8 days due to
lightning etc, and the link wasn't updated prior to me shutting down.

I have been trying all day to get cURL to produce a usable direct link - but no luck, it seems the link produced is a redirect and wont work
directly (in a download manager or browser). So far the only way to get the new Java is to download from Java manual downloads

Here's the info cURL produces...the link resolves to =javadl.sun.com
Spoiler
Strangely, the new link offers the following info, size & hash - but no download link. Notice the expiration date?
Spoiler
I had to download from my browser, I didn't think I could get it done on dialup => "get disconnected and start over" but amazingly it finished,
this is all the info I have. It's after midnight for me, maybe someone else can try, I will try again first thing in the morning.

No change as of moments ago, maybe this temporary fix will at least get Java to the AutoPatcher release.

I grabbed the direct link from 'filehippo.com' - size and hash are a match with the file from the 'BundleID'
supplied by Java. If you want the info here it is.

In the mean time I will keep watching for a direct link from Java. If anyone has an issue with the 'temp' link please report it asap!

seems that this link has an anti-leech protection: The system cannot find the path specified

really, i don't know why sun is doing this <_<

I have been wondering why the latest Java hasn't been added, I thought you were referring to the Java.sun.com link, not filehippo.

Anyway, what about uploading the latest java to a host that offers a direct download? I looked at Majorgeeks but it looks as if the
file they have is different - no '-s'. I created an account with MyDataNest and they seemed really nice, few adds, but they have
fallen down with any tech support, I couldn't get a few things to work, they answered my first email but since have ignored me
outright, the first response was for more info, I sent it immediately but they have not responded to my 2 followup emails - I don't
recommend them for anything.

I looked at SigMirror, they offer direct links (hotlinks) - this could work as a temp fix, I don't think there is anything prohibiting offering
the latest Java, everyone else does.

For now, I simply downloaded the latest and installed using 'Run' -> jre-6u19-windows-i586-s.exe /s IEXPLORER=1 MOZILLA=1
