Well, I'm glad you are admitting you saw the post...

only frank can do that now. i will ask to domenico if he had deleted something (but i bet that don't). as i didn't (and i even saw your
post about that L swith.
really, i don't know what happened. so, now i'm really puzzled :huh:
But then you say in the same post this...

Cristiano said:

This is confusing, in the same post you say you Did and Did Not read my post about the -L switch.

Anyway, no hard feelings from me, but please, just let whoever know I would like my account removed if possible.

sorry. bad translation from a guy that is falling asleep since several hours ago. i didn't saw that post. i remember about the "again" and jerry's post. only that

> I would like my account removed if possible
that requires login to the administration area. right now, only frank and ... (i've forgot) can reach that area. right now, we can:
- remove posting ability from some time or forever;
- set post moderation to someone;
- ban

NO. I've never deleted/edit any post/topic or parts of them.

So what's the verdict on just supplying the javajre_x86.apm file with the latest j6U20 entry for Java and forget about being able
to download it until a solution is found?

I vote to just update the .apm

I'm not sure what happens in AP if you select to install and the file is not there though.

only 2 things will happen:
1 - autopatcher will turns into unofficial;
2 - the module will not install

about this issue, we are thinking about update apup and autopatcher to fix this issue and another one that arrives with .net 4 once for all, but first we are digging into the forums looking for old and unfixed bugs. due our limited time to dig, this is taking longer than expected, but so far the most usual forums where issues are reported are already reviewed. it's missing the entire xp and vista forums yet. basically, it's still missing the same forums than last week, because i'm kinda overloaded at my job and i'm collapsing due that. oh yes, i've got an flu too and i'm allergic to a lot of things. so, imagine the picture :(

Would anything speak against adding an OR registry detection for the newer Java Version?
That way the j6u18 entry would still show blue for those users that have a later version installed.

I added and tested the following:

javajre_x86.apm (in Addons) added OR registry detection
RegistryPath=HKLM\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.6.0_20\MSI
KeyName=PRODUCTVERSION
KeyValue=6.0.200

well, it's possible release the modules (i have booth x86 and x64), but java can't be added, because sun has enforced their ticket-based system and apup can't handle it. the same thing happens with some updates for network monitor (that was updated to v3.4, but it's being tested yet). to this last one, 1 update (that has versions in x86 and x64) has an download link from codeplex, that doesn't work as well

by the way, none of the java installers worked in my 7 pro x64. installing it with admin rights didn't helped, i always got an problem related to windows installer. but deploying it through autopatcher, it worked. sadly, the same thing didn't worked with openoffice, but i'm looking for an solution yet. at least, in the worst case scenario, i do have an license for office 2k7 (that if ms honor their word, will receive an free update to 2k10 next month or so)

as an alternative to the java download issue, i've attacked to the first post the required files to jre work with autopatcher. if the instructions given be followed, autopatcher shall stay as official. i've added booth x86 and x64 versions

by the way, an fix for the windows installer issue under seven can be found in here

and no, i'm not running any beta version, nor pirated or something not genuine. just an hint: run the cmd file as administrator, then reboot.
Spoiler

at least for me, it just worked disabling Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program as well.

done. booth java modules are now online. i've noticed that the autopatcher issue with x64 systems was avoiding an proper detection for java x64. i think that i've set an proper one that will bypass this limitation for now

java 6/21 is not being downloaded, in fact the only JRE file in apup's modules/addons/SunJava_x86_files is 6/18.

Also although all sets are true, Autopatcher shows as unofficial after downloadin the NM33 file

no problem. anyway, this issue is due the presence of an old version of this module

oh yes, since there's not an script to do the proper actions, for those added manually your have to delete the old files first, meaning javaxxx.apm and the .exe file

I deleted those, but no java was downloaded.

I then started with a completely new apup in a separate folder (apup2), and checked only Autopatcher update, autopatcher engine and Extras addon pack. No java files were downloaded. Pic shows the Autopatcher result:

I'm not finding the new Java modules either. I thought maybe it was moved to 'Extras' based on what JRosenfeld said but I don't see it there?

the modules are at the first post, but:

javax64

javax86

JRE 6u21

the provided link can reach booth x86 and x64 versions, according to the user selection. just select the platform, check "i agree..." and hit "continue". the files that yours shall download is jre-6u21-windows-i586.exe and/or jre-6u21-windows-x64.exe

booth executables shall be saved into modules\AddOns\SunJava_x86_files

long time ago, we have found an issue in the forum that sometimes doesn't allow anyone else see the attachments (i'm unsure if the issue was already fixed). if is this the case, please let me know it that i can host it instead attach.

OK that woked, thanks. (for some reason Autpatcher showed as unofficial if I used the windows_addons.apm dated 12/03/2009 that was in the zip file, but became official when I used the one I already had, dated 16/07/2010, although the files appear to be identical).

thanks. i probably forgot the old version of windows_addons.apm in the java folder. no problem, i've re-attached those, without that file. the posts that had the version with that issue was edited.

Just wondering, did anyone ever figure out what the difference is between the file that has the -s and the file that doesn't?

I noticed the new Java file is minus the -s, the old link still has it -> jre-6u21-windows-i586-s.exe
