I'm getting a run-time error on the 9th November update for XP. error code Run-time error '0'.
APUP was busy with fetching Windows-KB890830-V1.34.exe

If you download the latest apup.exe there is no November release, but it does download Windows-KB890830-V1.34.exe without a runtime error. However, the .apm file that goes with that update is old, and therefore the file fails verification even if it is correctly downloaded from Microsoft.

I'm using the latest apup.exe. On my startup screen it shows under Available releases
Autopatcher for Windows XP (x86) -- English, English , 9 Nov 2007
The run-time error (0) still persists, with about 3.45Mb left to download, but no indication of the current download file.
Good work guys - the beta is looking good

From what i've seen, i thing the problem may be related with that file (because I'm testing a way to rename the file after it's downloaded from Windows-KB890830-V1.34.exe to KB890830.exe. I'll check that tomorrow.

With the latest apup I'm also getting runtime error 0 at
KB890830_x86_enu.apm from www. autopatcher.com.
KB890830_x86_enu.apm from www. autopatcher.com.

What happens to me is I will run APUP, it will start downloading the files. Then the downloads just stop no error codes anything. I retry to run APUP again, this is when I get the runtime error 0. I will delete the scripts that it downloaded and startover again. Hope this helps...
Many Thanks to the Autopatcher Team, you guys are awesome!

same problem with the file KB890830-V1.34.exe this is with windows xp 9th november. if starts to download and after doing so right at the end of the download it says run time error '0'.
also if you visit the microsofts website at search for the file, the file size is bigger than what is being said by autopatcher updater. i.e. autopatcher says something like 3.00mb and the actual file size is 8.30mb.
i no that this program is just a preview and cant wait for the final release. thanks keep up the good work. and also try to fix the bugs please.
long live autopatcher

well, lets see if others are running into this error message and also to get a clearer picture of the situation and possibly as resolution.
the runtime error appears when it is downloading the .apm file for kn890830-v1.34

Just tried again. Still getting runtime error. However, I had kept all the files it had downloaded on the previous attempt last night (my previous post in this thread), so it basically started off at the point where the error occurred previously. This time it did download the following 2 files before the error popped up, so maybe the point at which this occurs has moved along slightly in the order in which files are accessed.
Files downloaded this time before the runtime error occurred were:
1. Windows-KB890830-V1.34.exe MD5 hash BA830EEE565B252C0D9441B0017C11BC 8,706,680 bytes, saved in a Folder called KB890830_files, which now contains 2 .exe files (the other one, KB890830.exe was saved when I was trying last night).
2. KB890830_x86_enu.apm, MD5 hash 8780451E4D61A13BA87CEEDB4774FA10 1,233 bytes
hope this info helps.

^ Thanks, I've edited the script. It's hard being working in this without my pc that has all AutoPatcher stuff...
Hope that now that error is gone.

Isn't that error after downloading kb890830_x86_enu.apm? When i tested it, it was the last downloaded file, so i think it may be the next one.

i was thing just that it might be the next file in the line. this is what i have done deleted the file kb890830_x86_enu.apm and then started the updater and also had the critical window opened right next to the updater therefore i can see what is being downloaded.
after i started the updater it downloaded the file and it appeared in the critical folder, and also the progress bar was right at the end i.e. completed downloading and then the runtime error appeared therefore i would think that it would be the next file waiting to be downloaded which is causing this problem.
is it possible to find out which file this is?

hi just removed the folder kb890830 and also the .apm file i then reran the updater and run-time error '0' appeared again.
i also have found something unusual with the kb890830 .apm file, after looking in the critical folder all of the .apm files have kb******_xp_x86_enu.apm BUT for KB890830 it only has _x86_enu.apm at the end.
also in the updater there is two loading bars top to represent the overall download and the bottom one to represent how much of the file has been downloading BUT after removing the KB890830 files and folders and rerunning the updater the loading bar appears at the top loading bar and not at the bottom. i might be wrong, if so please correct me.
thanks for reading.

I have to address that problem to Antonis...
About the name of that file, it's intended to be that way, because it's just language (ENU) specific: applies to all ENU versions.
