Ref my previous reports earlier in this thread, today, apup managed to download one more file,
WindowsXP-KB920685-x86-ENU.exe, before the runtime error, but did not downloadthe corresponding .apm file.

So the bug has moved on one step. Progress of a sort :-)

i might be of some help in resolving the error message. here it goes:

since were are having problems with kb890830 is it possible for the developer to remove the following text out the script file for xp november:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Item=KB890830 Update

DetectFile=autopatcher:\modules\Critical\KB890830_files\Windows-KB890830-V1.34.exe
DetectHash=BA830EEE565B252C0D9441B0017C11BC
DownloadFrom=http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/a/a/4aa524c6-239d-47ff-860b-5b397199cbf8/Windows-KB890830-V1.34.exe
DownloadTo=autopatcher:\modules\Critical\KB890830_files\Windows-KB890830-V1.34.exe
ExpectedSize=8706680
ExpectedHash=BA830EEE565B252C0D9441B0017C11BC

Item=KB890830 Module

DetectFile=autopatcher:\modules\Critical\KB890830_x86_enu.apm
DetectHash=8780451e4d61a13ba87ceedb4774fa10
DownloadFrom=http://www.autopatcher.com/releases/modules/KB890830_x86_enu.apm
DownloadTo=autopatcher:\modules\Critical\KB890830_x86_enu.apm
ExpectedSize=1233
ExpectedHash=8780451e4d61a13ba87ceedb4774fa10
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if you remove the part for kb890830 then the download can possibly download the rest of the files besides the kb890830 files. (am i right or wrong)

i tried to remove the kb890830 from the script file BUT as the updater updates the file script file it also updates the missing part for kb890830.

then you can possibly find and correct the error with kb890830 file etc.

Remove it from the script after running apup.exe, after it finishes calculating the required size for the downloads, but before you actually start to download the updates. When you edit the .script file, don't forget to save it.

Thanks for the tip Cyrus, I tried it and well it moved to the next update and got the same error on KB888302_xp_x86_enu.apm_files. I tried it again but it seems to be hanging on "calculating" and cannot get it to move any further I have tried several times. I will give it another go around tomorrow.

New to this... but, I'm having the error occur after the Kb890830 file downloads. It freezes on the next one which is the KB888302_xp_x86_enu.exe
If try to rerun the apup.exe file it will error out on the calculating, with the runtime error.
In looking at the script file for the KB888302 download.... it looks incorrect in the script file.

ExpectedSize=1440
ExpectedHash=1A990DC4F340A2038E78CA216819E7DD

Looks like the DownloadFrom= has been wrapped up to the prior line making it incorrect DetectHash?????

well spotted "freeloader" it looks like autopatcher forgot to add to the script where to download the file from Microsoft. hope this was the problem and autopatcher will possibly fix it asap.

I still get the "runtime 0" error:

What I did:
Extract apup.zip (the latest one from the link in the other thread, downloaded less than 1 hour ago)

Started the program, it shows me the available updates.
I uncheck everything except the first 2: Autopatcher engine and WinXP english.
Then it starts downloading the patches....

Sometimes the program hangs when trying to get an apm from the autopatcher server, in my example it is:
kb897663_xp_x86.enu.apm

When this happens the program does stop (like it is in a loop or something).
The only way is to click on the exit button so the program terminates.

When I start apup.exe again, i receive this "runtime 0" error.

Hopefully that helps a bit. :)

Just downloaded the apup.exe file and tried to rerun it again... apparently it is still getting a script error within the autopatcher_xp_x86_enu file .
The file is still as displayed on the server. Detect hash is incorrect and Downloadfrom is showing blank.

A quick question.... when you run the apup.exe file.... it erases the current script files that you have previously download.... now as the new scripts are downloaded .... does the program when calculating the files sizes use the script to detect what updates you may have already downloaded. This would keep you from having to redownload all the files you previously had downloaded correctly? If so, then would a error in the script file generate the runtime error 0.
just wondering....

I uploaded the wrong file, it should be ok now.

Apup calculates the size based on the script that it has downloaded, so that it correctly say what's the size of the update, accordingly to new files sizes.

About Run-time 0 error, Antonis is the person to answer (he does all the program coding).

Edit: Script updated to November.

Hi guys,

I am still having a problem with KB890830-v1.32! I get a file verification error!
"One or more files have failed verification. Would you like to continue at your own risk?"

File not found!

Is this still one of the bugs that are being looked into?

Regards.

Try again, please. Now that module shouldn't give any problems.

Are you talking about Italian version? I'm not the manager of that one, only English and Portuguese (Portugal).

There is no "KB890830-v1.32". Delete both KB890830 apm file and folder and try again.
