Are you running November's script? I can't reproduce the error, everything works fine here. I tested several times in several folders, and i get no error.

I have a different problem when downloading the updates from apup. Everything goes well until I get to the last 507kb of the windows xp enu. updates and downloading the autopatcher program itself. It seems to download the 1.67 autopatcher but will not extract the files from apengin_bin, apengin_exe to complete the setup. I can manually extract the files and then autopatcher will start and work but the last 507kb of updates from the windows xp enu list still doesn't complete the setup it seems to stop before the apengin.script is complete. And it tries to redownload this everytime I run apup.

I had that issue as well, after a couple tries it finally went through. I also wanted to give this a try at the office just to see if i get the same behavior, Run Time error 0, and hanging dowloads, i have experienced all three. I am going to make sure the firewall is not blocking it from downloading.

i also have the same problem, it leaves about 507kb to download. every time i rerun the updater it does and is not able to download the 507kb. it also stops at downloading apengin.script file.

my guess is that one of the hotpatches was updated and is now 507kb smaller than before, so it now gives us that error. As for failure to extract the AP program, I had no trouble. Perhaps Antonis should look into it.

Thank you guys again for the new release... I downloaded all office updates perfect..... Trying the xp one... Does anyone know once a download fails, does it write a file somewhere?? I have extracted apup to different folders, each time it stops randomly. After a download "hangs" i can no longer use that folder. I can extract it to another folder with a different name and it can download more files, or hang from the start. If anyone can give me an idea where to look to help troubleshoot with you guys even further that would be great. I wonder if there could be something in the script when it verfy's existing files causing the issue..?

I'm using the latest apup.exe (18 Nov) and with 20 Nov release for both 2003 and 2007 Office. On both of them I'm getting a runtime error (0), as soon as it starts with calculating.

The same error with office XP download.

What versions are you using?

Rudy,
I used 18Nov build. Office seemed to work fine, what I did was added my laptop's IP to my firewalls Gateway Antispam, Antivirus, Intrustion Prevention, service. It should not make any difference but the office modules downloaded completely. But when I started to download the XP updates it errored out, and it has been very random, meaning no specific update it errors out on. I have to delete the folder, extract the zip file again and start over with xp. So far I have not seen anything with the script, i have not completed looking at it either, i hope i can find something of use that can help.

If the errors that you are getting occur in the apm files, then it's a problem with our server. We are going to see what we can do to fix it.

Are the downloads coming from the same web server (software) as the website? If so, it might be a good idea to separate the two. Run a lightweight web server (such as lighTTPD) with no scripting (i.e. PHP) enabled for less overhead - or possibly load-balance with another server on round-robin DNS or something.

I got another runtime 0 and here is the text from the log. i am downloading windows xp without the autpatcher engine. It seems if i have the engine checked it errors out for some reason...hope it helps
