I've been getting that error for weeks now when running apup.exe. I've tried reinstalling several times to different folders (C:\AutoPatcher, C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoPatcher, etc). The solution in many other threads for this is that the user is downloading multiple releases, while i'm only downloading the Vista x64 release.

Hi kaut1k,
Welcome to the forums!

There is more than one reason why the "One or more files has failed verification" error appears. The details of the file which is giving a problem is normally listed in the log-file, but even before I ask you for this, I can see, from the screen shot you have posted, one reason for your problem: kb905866 is the Microsoft Windows Mail Junk E-mail and Phishing Filter update. APUP is trying to download an older version (v24), but Microsoft have now issued a later version (v25).

It is normally best to re-run APUP in the same folder when this error occurs.

It would be helpful if you could re-run APUP once more and this time include the option to make a log-file (which you can do from the Command Prompt with C:\AutoPatcher>apup /log). Then please post the log-file here.

Meanwhile, I will remove the out-of-date Mail Junk E-mail and Phishing Filter update and also another out-of-date file, from the script for Vista x64. After that, the script will be updated with the new updates released by Microsoft in October. I cannot give an exact date for this because we are waiting for a computer to be repaired before we can properly update Vista. Sorry about that.

Looks like I just need to wait until you remove the outdated files.

Whilst you are waiting for the out-of-date files to be removed, it is still safe for you to run AutoPatcher and install everything else that you want.

I am having the same problem a week later on Vista x64. I tried to download this three (3) times and got 611MB out of 605MB (?????) the first time and then the same error each time after. Looks like it is looking for the September Junk File Filter ~ which MS has replaced with October. DOn't know why it is reporting all those files missing after a 600MB download ....

Here is the most recent / last log file as of a few moments ago.

I have made a change to the script which should stop the errors on the junk mail filter, but I cannot it test it myself.

The other missing files are because your log-file shows that you are not downloading a file archive from autopatcher.com. I cannot see any reason why, since I can download it myself with no problem.
