Guys, I just got this from Brian Livingston's latest newsletter http://windowssecrets.com/comp/081030

about the latest MS patch MS08-067.

* "Are Windows NT and Windows 98 machines susceptible to the security hole?"

Windows NT, 95, 98, and Me are supported by Microsoft only for customers who PAY A FEE. As a result,
Microsoft releases patches for these operating systems only to people who have Premier support contracts with the company.

However, as was reported on the Patch Management blog by Eric Schultze of patch-management vendor
Shavlik.com, Microsoft has provided a fix for this problem to customers who pay for NT patches.

I hope this helps y'all out.

P. S. By the way, Livingston's free newsletter is always full of goodies.

This information may be useful to others, but it is not actually relevant to AutoPatcher, since we do not support any version of Windows that is no longer supported by Microsoft.

Personally, I am already in touch with both Brian Livingston and Eric Schultze. I can recommend the WindowsSecrets newsletter.

The Windows NT patches are available for both NT Workstation and NT Server, but ONLY for Microsoft customers with a Premier Support contract AND a CSA Agreement.

James, the MS08-067 patch http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/MS08-067.mspx is for:

Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4

Windows XP Service Pack 2

Windows XP Service Pack 3

Windows XP Professional x64 Edition

Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Service Pack 2

Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1

Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2

Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition

Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition Service Pack 2

Windows Server 2003 with SP1 for Itanium-based Systems

Windows Server 2003 with SP2 for Itanium-based Systems

Windows Vista and Windows Vista Service Pack 1

Windows Vista x64 Edition and Windows Vista x64 Edition Service Pack 1

Windows Server 2008 for 32-bit Systems*

Windows Server 2008 for x64-based Systems*

Windows Server 2008 for Itanium-based Systems

I thought AutoPatcher covered these.

My bad.

We do indeed cover all of those, but not the Windows NT or 95, 98, 98SE or ME mentioned in your first post.
