Important information regarding ordered CD/DVD’s

It has just come to our attention that paypal operates a 60 day refund window rather than a 90 day windows as previously thought. After that you can only be refunded the amount sales receives after paypal fees are taken out. For example, after 60 days, from a $7 order, you would only be able to get back $6.50.

The new releases we have been working hard to complete since March are literally just around the corner now. However, if you are fed up waiting and wish for a refund, please try to request one before 60 days have passed.

Once again, thank you for your patience and understanding regarding the delays. Blaze

Update: Okay, time for another status check. I know i said it would be done by today (Sunday) but it's slipped again slightly, partly because my brothers keep making so much damn noise i can't concentrate and won't shut the hell up, partly because this last feature that i thought should be easy became the most complicated piece of code in the entire script due to the fact i had to build in a tracking system to prevent a potential infinite loop which may have resulted in a system crash.

So, plan:
- Monday: finish up last little bits to the script; compile the releases; do a little final testing; start the upload process;
- end of Monday or Tuesday: the upload will be complete, Ben can get a copy and send off those long overdue CD/DVD's, and the releases can spread to other mirrors;
- late on Tuesday or sometime Wednesday release to public.

AutoPatcher 5.6 Step-by-step guide

Since many people are wondering how is the new AutoPatcher 5.6, we want them to take a look inside, so that you may get used to it.

There's a huge list of new thing in AutoPatcher 5.6, such as:

  • New detections: Windows Media Player, Windows Live Messenger/MSN Messenger, DirectX, .Net and Windows Installer
  • Microsoft Office components detection: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Project, Publisher, OneNote, FrontPage, InfoPath, Visio, SharePoint Designer and Groove. This means that we are already creating AutoPatcher for Office (XP/2000/2003 and 2007).
  • We now can detect hotfixes that were slipstreamed.

And many, many more (you can see some new features in the screenshots.

The visual structure isn't really different from the v5.1, but has some new things, such as you may see next.

Let's start AutoPatcher! (more...)

Status report

We're nearly there now, i'd say at very least 95% of the work has been completed on the new releases. Really sorry it's taking so long to complete them, especially to those who are waiting for CD/DVD orders to be fulfilled. You can find precise details of exactly whats left to be done in the new progress report.

On another note, Antonis is not the only one having hardware issues, i just tried to resize the partitions on my external USB hard drive, it failed and now i'm looking at a huge loss of data if i can't recover it :(, luckily none of it relating to AutoPatcher. Also, i have my practical driving test tomorrow :)

Still hard at work

I have now moved back to my place, here in Lamia, Greece, since Easter vacation officially came to an end. Tomorrow (though the clock shows about 1am) I'll be back on my regular schedule again.

Work on AutoPatcher goes on of course! Doing my part, I continue to improve/adjust things in AutoPatcher 5.6 as requested by the rest of the team. I have added support for DirectX as it may come handy for some modules. Office detection support is still being worked on, with more applications becoming supported (Office 2003 has reached the 100% supported mark, along with Office 2007). The release info screen is being changed to provide better information on the loaded releases and addon packs.
