Microsoft today released a patch to fix the recent .ANI security vulnerability ahead of their usual schedule. We have followed suit with a 'patch' release which will add the update to your current releases.

Note that KB925902 will be included in our next main releases (April 2007)

As you may or may not have heard, this month the AutoPatcher core is being updated from version 5.1 to version 5.6. This upgrade involves a lot of work converting our releases to the new format, and is actually taking a little longer than I expected.

You can view my progress report here, and as you will see, it's looking pretty likely we may have to go for an April release rather than a March release and due to the amount of stuff to be done, we'll be skipping the March release and going straight for April.

I apologize to anyone who's pre-ordered a CD/DVD for the delay, you'll get them as soon as possible, I'm working my ass off to get these releases done.

Okay, I'll try to summarize what we have been working for the last couple of weeks, just to keep those of you who don't visit the forum as much up to date.

For the past couple of weeks we have been working on a new core version, AutoPatcher 5.6. This brings a lot of new features which we hope to use in upcoming releases. Some are already being used, as Renato (a.k.a. gandolas) has put AutoPatcher 5.6 to the test by creating a Vista release (check the torrents!). Version 5.6 also means that an AutoPatcher for Microsoft Office is now possible.
